George Washington Bridge is a double-decked suspension bridge spanning the Hudson River, connecting the Fort Lee, New Jersey and Washington Heights, Manhattan in New York City. One of the longest New York bridges total length 4,760 feet (1450m) was opened to traffic in October 1931 – upper level and August 1962 – lower level. Over 106 million vehicles per year drive through the busiest motor vehicles bridge in the world. The GWB have received landmark status as well in 1981.
