Vesuvio Bakery, Soho
New York City
$90.00 – $160.00
In this lovely color photograph you can see an old green storefront of the Vesuvio Bakery in Soho, at 160 Prince Street, in a nasty winter blizzard day. The freshly baked bread is handmade daily and presented simply in the windows. The Dapolito family opened the bakery in 1920 and began producing Italian bread, pastries, and biscuits created from generations-old recipes. For much of the long bakery’s life, the business was run by Anthony Dapolito, a beloved neighborhood figure who died in 2003. Tony Dapolito was born the year his parents, immigrants from Naples, opened the bakery. As a boy, he delivered the bread on his bicycle. The Vesuvio Bakery closed in 2009 and became part of New York City history.
Great for residential or business decor.
